May 29th List of 2008 Camps Participants - newly added:

additional Central Christian Campers - Kyra Beer ("Junior" camp); Mason Dennis and Payton Dennis ("Junior" camp).

• Central Christian Camps in Guthrie: Dates. The website is www.okdisciples.org
• CYF summer mission trip to X-Fuge at Edgewater Resort, Panama City, Florida, July 20-26. FEES AND NOTARIZED FORMS ARE OVERDUE. The website is www.lifeway.com . Departure is Sunday, July 20th, at 7:00am. We will travel to Slidell, Louisiana, spend the night, and do the Cajun Encounter Swamp Tour, Monday morning at 9:30. Following the tour, we will eat lunch and travel on to Edgewater Resort in Panama City, Florida. Our mission work, a children's ministry or social ministry track, will be done as a group. Camp Pastor is Landon Dowden, and Worship Team is Spur58. Each student needs to bring enough spending money to cover five fast food meals, coke and snack money, and souvenirs. We leave camp Friday morning, drive to Memphis, spend the night, tour Bealle Street Saturday morning, and return to Stillwater around 8pm Saturday evening.
• More than 40 kids and sponsors are planning to attend Dry Gulch August 3 - 7, 2008. Camp Group Meeting: Parents & children at 5:30 Sunday, July 6th, in Youth room (mandatory head lice check - all children must attend). The website www.drygulchusa.com has information and a What-To-Bring List.
• We have larger groups than expected going to all camps this summer.  We will lease Stillwater High School buses for transportation to Dry Gulch.  However, we need vehicles in addition to the two church vans for our trips to Missouri and Florida:  if you have vehicles that could be used for these trips, please contact Sondra Ladd ASAP.

Please complete a Children & Youth Ministry survey - available in the hanging file folder outside the youth office - decisions for fall activities will be based on the feedback obtained from this survey.

Attention Parents:  Every participant in children's and youth ministries needs to have a completed Registration/Medical Release form on file.  Please download and complete the attached form and turn it in ASAP;  Laura Sharp will notarize forms.  Also print out the questionnaire/opportunities for service form:   fill it out and complete it if you are interested in helping out in any area of children's or youth ministries.

Youth & Children's Programs at FCC

Youth Fellowship

Mission Statement: As youth and those who support youth, we seek a community that is open, friendly, fun, and inclusive, based on trusting relationships, and nestled in a supportive environment. We will be about seeking God together as friends and growing in our spirituality, while encouraging others to grow in theirs. We will learn to use our spirituality to serve others as well as build a sense of community.

Our youth group is:

• Open to any youth.
• A faith community of itself and a part of the larger faith community of First Christian Church, which implies a makeup of committed and participating individuals.
• Committed to Christian service.

There are youth groups for youth from third grade through high school at First Christian Church.

• Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) is a group for junior high and high school students (9th - 12th)
• Chi Rho Fellowship (XP) is a group for middle school and junior high students.(6th - 8th)
• Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF) is a group for third through fifth grade students and meets Wednesdays after school. Transportation from the local elementary schools to the church can be arranged.

All groups, both in small and large group activities, participate in experiences that increase their understanding of community, spirituality, and Christian service.  Through these activities, which range from discussion groups to crazy games, we seek to better understand the love of God manifest in Jesus Christ and the people around us. We want to be a people of faith, committed to the love and service of others.

Children's Ministry

Sensational Sunday is a monthly activity for all children (Pre-K through 5th grade) participating in Children's Ministry activities. Children who come to Sunday School, "Kids' Own Worship", or Wednesday Night Fellowship (WNF) will receive an invitation to an afternoon of fun the last Sunday of each month. Activities vary but include bowling, movies, swimming, games, etc.
