Adult Sunday Schools
For most of the year, eight different adult Sunday School classes
meet at 10:10 a.m.. In addition to Bible study and other
religious-centered activities, FCC Sunday Schools undertake
service activities for the church and community, engage in
social activities, and provide support for one another.
The eight adult Sunday School classes are as follows:
- Disciples: This class includes
a mix of ages, from parents of infants, to grandparents.
It works! The curriculum currently alternates between
Bible Quest,
focusing on Bible study; and
The Wired Word,
drawing on current events; but we've also used
The Inviting Word, based on the
lectionary scriptures.
(Room 124 in Education Wing)
- Sojourners: This class is for young adults through
middle-aged singles and couples. A variety of materials
are used, along with discussion, to help members grow
in their faith, and deepen their understanding of God
and His will for our lives. They meet in the
Library (Room 104).
- Balcony Bunch: This class is primarily composed of single adults
between 35 and 60 years of age. (Room 120 in Education Wing)
- Seekers & Servants: This is class of mostly baby-boomers
is using
The Wired Word
as a springboard to discuss
contemporary issues from a Christian perspective.
(Room 119B in Education Wing)
- Pairs & Spares: This class of mainly
empty-nesters, or soon-to-be empty-nesters, study God's
word through discussion and fellowship, with the help
of a variety of class-selected publications and guides.
(Room 123 in Education Wing)
- Paracletes: This class incorporates a wide range
of ages and meets for Bible study. (Room 119A in Education Wing)
- Three Ms: This class consists of adults at or
near retirement, but still actively serving the church;
the three "M's" stand for Mr., Mrs., & Miss.
(Room 116 in Education Wing)
- Galileans & Greeters: Most of the Galileans & Greeters are retired but serve
very actively in the church. (Lounge, Room 105)
