Let's congratulate our Ministry Intern, LeAnn Sapp, for graduating from Phillips Theological Seminary with High Honors, and for receiving the Community Life Award by vote of her peers.
Our Head Custodian is retiring at the end of the month. FCC is seeking applicants for the position of Full-time Church Custodian responsible for providing general upkeep and maintenance of the church buildings and grounds. Requires the ability to exercise discernment in picking priorities and identifying areas that need attention (see Job Description). First Christian Church is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Our denomination, which was founded in 1832, is the oldest denomination to have originated on American soil.
The Lord's Supper, which we observe each Sunday, is the central act of worship. We believe this is Christ's table, and therefore all believers in Christ are invited to partake.
The Bible is our primary witness to the presence and activity of the living God in the world. It is the responsibility of each Christian to bring the text into dialogue with Christian tradition, experience, and reason in understanding its authority for today.
There is only one primary requirement for membership in First Christian Church - belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
